Diet Folk

Diet folk are those who want a taste but stop shy of the full experience. They want something that looks like the real thing even if it can't stand up to scrutiny. Diet Folk

want the Word, but don't want to wear it on their sleeve. In other words they want Diet Word. Diet Word, touches on some of the tenets of Biblical truth without delving any deeper. Diet Word is for those on a diet and Diet Folk are always trying to abstain from the stuff that's good for them. Diet Folk don't want spiritual depth because of the high spiritual calorie count. Diet Folk want a smattering of truth like dusting sugar but don't want to taste it beneath the surface. Their attraction with Diet Word is because it doesn't demand of them consecration and nudge them towards sanctification. They can consume as much of Diet Word as they like and add no spiritual weight. Diet Word promises you your best life now and paradise on earth; it says God wants to bless you and focusses you on this fact omitting the conditions for living a life that pleases Him. So you can cohabit with things that offend Him and still believe you are living in His will. Diet Folk live on the fringe and steer away from creating offence. Diet Folk are loved by the world because they are indistinguishable from those around them who eschew a relationship with God. They add the name of Jesus to things that have a carnal core and present it as spiritual just because they mentioned that name. Diet Folk fully expect to spend an eternity in heaven with a God they are ashamed to speak about on earth. I was once a member of the Diet Folk clan and now I'm reaching out to others and urging them to add some weight.
